PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording method for surely detecting the boundary between an nonrecording area and a recording area when optimal power is decided by trial recording before the recording of user data in a recordable disk. SOLUTION: In the trial recording area of an optical disk, the traveling direction of an optical spot is set from the inner peripheral direction to the outer peripheral direction and, when the trial recording area is used from the outer peripheral side (sector of an × mark is a recorded sector), an optical recording power decided by trial recording in sectors 302, 303, 304 and 305 is used to execute recording in a sector 301. Thus, when next time trial recording is executed, the possibility of erroneously recognizing the recorded sector as a nonrecording sector can be reduced. |
