PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a time required for downloading the data by combined use of data downloading paths via a satellite and a telephone line. SOLUTION: In the digital broadcast system provided with a broadcast station 1 broadcasting digital download data, a download data distribution center 16 that distributes download data of the same contents as those of data from the broadcast station via a telephone line 13, a digital broadcast receiver 4 that acquires the data from the distribution center via the telephone line, the digital broadcast receiver is provided with a reception means that receives satellite broadcast data, a communication means that makes data communication via the telephone line, and a recording means that stores the data received from the satellite and the data acquired from the telephone line, and downloads data by designating the data as to whether the data are downloaded via the satellite 3 or the telephone line 13 by each data block and downloading the data via the both at the same time in downloading the data.
