Providing a novel method for deacidification of paper. Method for deacidification of paper by: (i) impregnating it with a solution containing at least one compound (I) that contains at least one amino and at least one alkoxysilyl group (silane), in an organic solvent, optionally mixed with water; then (ii) drying.
