摘要 PURPOSE: A fiber orientation measuring method is provided to take a picture of a GFRP(Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic) product, to input an image file, and to quantitatively calculate a fiber orientation degree of the GFRP product. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises steps of taking a picture of a GFRP product with a high precision camera, scanning the taken picture for generating a digital image file, extracting a part from the image file with a mouse, separating the partial image from the overall image, extracting a profile from the two dimensional fiber image by performing a Sobel operation, enabling a user to input a fiber orientation angle gap with a keyboard where the orientation distribution of the fiber image is more detailed as the angle gap is smaller, calculating a two dimensional cross correlation factor between the original profile and the profile generated when a darkness threshold gets varied within a range of 0 to 255, displaying two-dimensionally the correlation factor according as the darkness threshold gets varied, enabling a user to input the correlation factor having an optimal darkness contrast of the profile, calculating numerically a fiber orientation angle distribution, and calculating a fiber orientation function based on the calculated fiber orientation angle distribution by using a least square method.
