The clamping device contains a threaded bar (10) at half the holder body (6) width and at right angles to the body surfaces (11,12) bearing on the beam (1). The projecting end of the bar (10) is fitted with a clamp nut (14) which bears against the topside of the bolt (6). Two holding arms (17,18) set to opposite sides from the holder body (6) can be swung to and from one another so the claws (19,20) grip the beam (1) from below by respective grip faces (21,22). The two arms (17,18) extend at an angle from the bar (10). The arms pass pivotally through (29,30) so their heads (31,32) hold the claws (19,20) inescapably in place.
