Device and method for locating a pen tip on a digitizer tablet

A pen (4) has a magnetometer (8) to measure magnetic fields generated by dipoles of a writing board and an inclinometer (10) to measure inclination angle of pen axis with respect to an antenna (16). A processing circuit (14) calculates the position of the pen tip on the surface of the board based on the measured magnetic fields and the inclination angle. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) writing digitizing system; (2) pen; and (3) pen tip location method.
