Water-insoluble solid particles, eg fillers and pigments, are coated with at least one layer of at least one product resulting from the reaction between (a) at least one molecule capable of becoming hydrated in contact with water and (b) at least one lipophilic molecule. (a) may be an amino acid, a peptide, a protein, a polysaccharide, an oligosaccharide, a gum, a vinylic polymer or a fluorinated polymer. (b) may be a C<SB>4</SB> - C<SB>30</SB> fatty acid, anhydride, acid halide, alcohol or amine. |
