<p>A fluorescent material comprising an associate of a cyclic phenol sulfide selected from thiacarixarene, sulfinylated thiacarixarene and sulfonylated thiacarixarene represented by formula (1): <CHEM> (wherein X represents S, SO, or SO2; n is an integer of 4 to 6; Y represents a hydrogen atom, a hydrocarbon group, a halogenated hydrocarbon group, -COR<1>, -OR<2>, -COOR<3>, -CN, -CONH2, -NO2, -NR<4>R<5>, a halogen atom, -SO4R<6> or -SO3R<7>; R<1> to R<5> each represents a hydrogen atom or a hydrocarbon group; R<6> and R<7> each represents a hydrogen atom, a hydrocarbon group or a metal; and plural Y's are the same or different) with a rare earth metal ion, and a fluorescent material composition comprising the fluorescent material dispersed or dissolved in a medium.</p> |
