The invention relates to a method for removing spent fuel elements from a pebble-bed high-temperature reactor, comprising a reactor core and a pebble-removal pipe. According to said method, the fuel elements are circulated round a circuit and a measurement of the gamma activity is taken, once they have exited the pebble-removal pipe. The measured value which has thus been obtained is defined in relation to previously determined values and a decision is made as to whether the fuel element should be removed. The method is characterised in that a removal threshold value (2, 4) is determined and updated during a substantially stationary operational process, based on a specific number of sequential preceding measured values, in such a way that the removal portion of the fuel elements to be removed corresponds to a predetermined relationship with this number. |
