PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gripper for a printing plate capable of automatically holding a winding end of the printing plate. SOLUTION: A cam shaft 37 is provided in a clamp containing recess 2 formed on an outer periphery of a plate cylinder 1, and the shaft 37 is supported movably in a direction perpendicular to its axial center. A first cam surface 40a and a second cam surface 40b are provided at an interval of 180 deg. on a cylindrical surface 39 formed on the outer periphery of the shaft 37, so that the cam surface 40a is brought into contact with a fixed protrusion and the second cam surface 40b is brought into contact with a contactor 42 supported movably in a direction perpendicular to the shaft 37. When the shaft 37 is rotated, the shaft 27 is moved in a direction perpendicular to the axial center by a contact of the cam surface 40a with the protrusion 41, the contactor 42 is moved by the contact with the surface 40b so that the contactor 42 moves twice as long as the shaft 37 to transmit the movement of the contactor 37 to a second clamp 20 to move the clamp 20 between the waiting position and a gripper position.
