PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for supplying a dampening water and an ink for a printer capable of suitably regulating a supply content of the dampening water or the ink, and to provide a method for supplying the dampening water for the printer. SOLUTION: The method for supplying the dampening water and the ink for the printer comprises a density measuring step of measuring densities of first and second detecting patches 101 and 102, in which there is a difference in the density changes of a printed matter after printing when near positions on the matter 100 are printed and supply contents of the dampening water and the ink are changed; a dampening water regulating step of regulating the supply content of the water based on the densities of the first and second patches 101 and 102 measured in the measuring step; and an ink supplying step of regulating the supply content of the ink based on the densities of the of the first and second patches measured in the density measuring step and the dampening water supply content.
