PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly transfer a load to a lifter in transfer of the load from a delivery conveyor to a delivery device provided with a plurality of vertically circulating lifters. SOLUTION: When a receiving fork 74 of the lifter 42 nears the delivery conveyor 37, the delivery conveyor 37 is tilted forward following a lowering movement of the receiving fork 74. Since upper faces of the receiving fork 74 and the delivery conveyor 37 can be held on the same plane in a delivery stroke of the load W, the load W can be smoothly slid to the receiving fork 74. As a result, application of impact to the load W and the receiving fork 74 is prevented, damage of the load W can be prevented, and durability of the lifter 42 can be enhanced.
