PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact removal system for organic substances dissolved in water, which can remove halogenated organic substances efficiently and displays stable removal performance for a long time. SOLUTION: This removal system for organic substances dissolved in water is formed by attaching a removal device B for organic substances dissolved in water equipped with a composite hollow fiber membrane for degassing the organic substances dissolved in water, such as trihalomethane, to a water cleaner A adsorbing chlorine. The composite hollow fiber membrane is a multilayered composite hollow fiber membrane consisting of a homogeneous membrane (A) and a porous membrane (B) providing a reinforcing function. The homogeneous membrane (A) and the porous membrane (B) are laminated alternately. A layer of the complex hollow fiber membrane which is brought into contact with an aqueous solution and a layer of the composite hollow fiber membrane which is not brought into contact with the aqueous solution are both composed of the porous membrane (B). A suction system is installed for changing a gas in the porous membrane (B) of the side opposite to the side brought into contact with water, with air outside a container at a ventilation rate per hollow fiber membrane area of 3 Nl/min/m<2> or higher.
