PURPOSE: A method for preparing a ceramic porous body by recycling the solid waste is provided, to obtain a ceramic porous body having an uniform pore size and to allow the pore size to be controlled by controlling the amount of a peptizing agent and a coagulant. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of mixing 100 parts by weight of the slurry which comprises 10-70 wt% of at least one nonplastic powder selected from the group consisting of solid wastes containing aluminosilicate as a main component, and 30-90 wt% of one plastic powder selected from the group consisting of clay, kaolin, pottery stone and mica; and 0.1-10 parts by weight of a peptizing agent to prepare a dispersed slurry; adding 0.01-2 parts by weight of a coagulant to the dispersed slurry to form a coagulated body; and obtaining a ceramic porous body by the self-gelation of the coagulated body. Preferably the plastic powder comprises Al2O3 and SiO2; the coagulant is an inorganic salt containing the cation selected from the group consisting of Al3+, Mg2+, Sr2+, Ba2+, Ca2+, Li+, K+ and Na+; and the peptizing agent is selected from the group consisting of Na2SiO3, Na4P2O7 and Na2CO3.
