PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved constitution for embedding processing of an electronic watermark in data of various picture formats. SOLUTION: When the electronic watermark is embedded in data of various formats like an HD picture and an SD picture, a part which can be hardly recognized by humans is searched on the basis of the angular frequency or the angular velocity from a viewer to a picture projected on a monitor, and this part is selected as an electronic watermark embedding area. For example, a parameter indicating an electronic watermark pattern embedding method based on the SD picture is stored, and this parameter is converted and used at the time of embedding the electronic watermark pattern in data of other picture formats. Thus the parameter for electronic watermark embedding processing for one reference picture can be applied to various picture formats. |
