PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission system in which multi-channel audio data such as DVD-Audio is efficiently transmitted in a transmission line using a fixed-length frame such as an MOST(media oriented synchronous transfer) method and in which a copyright protection measure of audio data is applied. SOLUTION: Block data created by a multiplexing means 51 of a transmission device 22 is constituted of 8 frames. The leading first byte of each frame is allocated to a header 101 having Sync or OE, etc., the second byte is allocated to the auxiliary data 102 including AUX data necessary for reproducing audio data and copyright protection information, and remaining bytes are used to transmit the audio data. An enciphering means 52 carries out enciphering process for the second and succeeding bytes of each frame, and the enciphered data is outputted by a communication means 53. A communication means 61 of a receiver 23 receives the enciphered data from a transmitter 22, and the enciphered data is decoded by a decoding means 62 and a demultiplexing means 63 demultiplexes audio data 103 and auxiliary data 102. |
