PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication terminal which can smoothly begin communication response regardless of the situation of user when arrived in close state covered the communication terminal body by a cover. SOLUTION: A folding type potable phone 10 is provided with a phone main body 12 and a cover 16 which is rotably connected to the phone main body 12 and covers the phone main body 12. The folding type phone 10 is provided with a torsion coil spring 18 which normally energizes the cover 16 in the direction to release the phone main body 12, lock means 20 and 22 which lock the cover 16 against the energizing force of the torsion coil spring 18 in the state closed the phone main body 12 and release means 46 and 56 which release the lock of the cover 16 by the lock means 20 and 22 when received an arrival signal.
