PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a image forming device, which has at least two or more temperature detecting means with individually independent constitution and detects the rare open/rare short state of the temperature detecting means by comparing the amounts of temperature variations per unit of time in respective temperature detecting means. SOLUTION: The image forming device has at least two or more temperature detecting means with individually independent constitution, and starts applying a current to a fixing heater when receiving a signal for starting a heating action. During a process where temperature is elevated to a predetermined target temperature, the defects and abnormalities of first and second temperature detecting means are judged with a means for comparing a temperature increase per unit of time in the first temperature detecting means with a temperature increase per unit of time in the second temperature detecting means. |
