PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve high-speed reproduction exceeding the reading capacity in a reproduction apparatus, eliminate the uselessness in high-speed reproduction operation, and reduce load on a data read head. SOLUTION: Eight (2<3> ) frame data '0×00'-'0×07' are expressed by three bits '000', '001'-'110', and '111' in the order of reproduction of one-multiple speed, the upper and lower bits of the three bits are exchanged, and each frame data expressed by the three bits '000', '100'-'011', '111' after the exchange are recorded on an optical disk in a recording order. Then, data are to be reproduced from the optical disk, the frame data of the number corresponding to the reciprocal of a reproduction rate (1/4 and 1/2 for quadruple and double rates), respectively, are read successively, the read frame data are buffered, and the buffered frame data are read in a specific order corresponding to the reproduction rate.
