PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power supply system which enables reducing power charge, while maintaining the present condition without reducing the number of lights of lighting fixtures. SOLUTION: The electric power supply system is constituted of a converter 1 which converts AC power inputted with a system-operable voltage into DC power, a power capacitor 2, and a storage battery 3. A transmission line 9 and the system are connected with a switching means 6 when time enters in the time zone while a midnight power price is applied. The electric power from the transmission line 9 is supplied to the converter 1, upon adjusting it to the voltage operable with the system by a voltage adjuster 4; and upon converting from AC power to DC power, applied to the power capacitor 2 parallel-connected to the output terminal of the converter 1; and applied also to the storage battery 3 parallel-connected with the latter stage of the power capacitor 2, and charges the storage battery 3.
