PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an imaging device which can readily rotate a photographing screen on a monitor at an arbitrary angle, when the photographing screen formed on an imaging means in a photographing system is displayed on the monitor for observation, and an imaging system having the same. SOLUTION: In an imaging device, to which a lens body and a camera body containing an imaging means are turnably mounted by a joining means with the optical axis as a rotation center, the camera body is turned, based on an external input signal or through a manual operation.
