PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotor position detecting device of synchronous motor for compressor which is applicable to all circumstances using a synchronous reluctance motor and can attain product cost reduction. SOLUTION: This motor is constituted of the synchronous reluctance motor. This rotor position detecting circuit thereof inputs DC voltage for each phase from a converter, applies it to a photocoupler, inputs voltage between both ends of a phase current detecting resistor connected with each of the phases on output side of an inverter, amplifies the voltage between both the ends to a predetermined level, applies it to the photocoupler, and supplies the output of the photocoupler to a microcomputer. The microcomputer makes a reluctance change with the position of the rotor of the synchronous reluctance motor compliant with a change in each phase current, and detects the position of the rotor on the basis of a predetermined computing program. |
