PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reel prevented from becoming unusable even though it is erroneously dropped. SOLUTION: The reel 20 is constituted of a shaft part 26 whereon a magnetic tape T is wound round, a lower flange 24 integrally provided at the lower end part of the shaft part 26 to guide the wound magnetic tape T, and an upper flange 28 mounted on the upper end part of the shaft part 26 to guide the wound tape. A fitting recessed part 50 is formed at the upper end part of the shaft part 26, and the fitting recessed part 50 fitting on an fitting projected part 48 is formed at the upper flange 28. By this arrangement, the impact resistant reel is realized, since the fitting projected part 48 is hardly disengaged from the fitting recessed part 50 even though the impact is applied to the upper flange 28 in the state the magnetic tape T is wound round.
