PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve efficiency of a control circuit, and also reduce the influence of electromagnetic noise and environmental temperature, and to high efficiency, and miniaturization. SOLUTION: The circuit is constituted with at least one or more control routines required for executing four control modes for carrying out lighting control of an electric discharge lamp, and only nine of the control routines (1) to (9) substantially share the control routines which are common. It consists of a hardware as a state machine, which performs control routines (1) to (9), an A/D converter 62, which takes in a detected signal about the operation of the electric discharge lamp 1, and a time counter 61, which detects lighting/ turning-off time. Each control mode is conducted to set up any among the four control modes, which is performed by the detection result in being set by selection and combination of the control routines (1) to (9). |
