SOLUTION: A resonance circuit is provided, which consists of an inductance L1 and a capacitor C3 to which high-frequency voltage outputted from the inverter circuit 1 is impressed, a control circuit 3, which controls the state of operation of the inverter circuit 1, and an electric discharge lamp La of which the start lighting is carried out by the resonance action of the resonance circuit. And, it is set so that the voltage impressed to the electric discharge lamp La at the starting of the electric discharge lamp La become the highest voltage, when the surrounding temperature is low temperature. When the surrounding temperature is high temperature, it is set so that it becomes larger than the voltage at normal temperature time. |
