PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reproducing device automatically starting the reproducing operation of contents without requiring a user to select or input any menu on a menu screen even when there are a plurality of menu hierarchies when starting the reproducing operation of a DVD-Video disk. SOLUTION: This disk reproducing device is provided with a menu state detecting means for detecting transition to a menu state when starting the reproducing operation of a disk and an Enter command inputting means for inputting an Enter command when the menu state is detected by the menu state detecting means. The Enter command is inputted in the menu state of the high order hierarchy, and the Enter command is inputted in the menu state of the low order hierarchy so that the reproducing operation of the contents can be automatically started.
