PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a computer system monitoring the runaway of the entire system while taking the performance state of an application into consideration. SOLUTION: A runaway monitoring timer for each application is provided, and in the case that the processing of the application is normally performed in each application called from a main processing, the runaway monitoring timer for the application is cleared. Meanwhile, in the case that the processing of the application is abnormal, it is not cleared. After the performance of all the applications is ended, in the runaway monitoring processing of the entire system, whether or not the runaway monitoring timers of all the applications are less than a prescribed set value provided for each application is judged, and when they are less than the set value, the watchdog timer of the system is cleared. In the case that there is the runaway monitoring timer whose value is equal to or more than the set value, the watchdog timer is not cleared. Thus, the system is reset.
