OSCILLATORY WAVE DRIVE UNIT AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oscillatory drive unit wherein favorable flatness and surface roughness can be obtained at the end faces of spring members of a rotor and the rotor is prevented from uncommon motion during polishing. SOLUTION: The rotor which is to be in contact with the elastic body 9 of a mobile body is composed of a main ring 201 and a rotor contact spring 22. The lower face of the mass portion 22c of the contact spring 22 is flattened by lapping to specified axial dimensions, and then polished. This lapping is performed at the same time as for the end face 21b of the rotor main ring 21 on the side of an oscillatory body 1, thereby making the lower face flush with the end face 21b.
