The driven disc 23 of an electromagnetically operated clutch is universally coupled to an output shaft 4 by a U-section rubber element 28 clamped between rings 21, 10 respectively splined to a sleeve 22 fast with the disc 23 and keyed to the shaft 4. When the clutch is disengaged a spring 26 moves the disc 23 to the position shown in which coacting guide surfaces 17, 17a centre the sleeve 22 on the shaft 4. The coupling may be used between the driving motor and work spindle of a machine tool. |
