PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper money handling device capable of feeding paper money in the respective paper money storage prepared for every denomination to be handled and performing operations such as collection, automatic calculation (close investigation), additional feed and partial collection at a state that paper moneys are stored in the respective paper money storages. SOLUTION: The paper money handling device is provided with a money receiving and paying part 1, a transportation path 2, a discriminating part 3, a temporary storage 4, paper money storages 15, 16, 17 corresponding to at least three denominations (ten- thousand yen notes, one-thousand yen notes and two-thousand yen notes) and a means to store the ten-thousand yen notes, the one-thousand yen notes, etc., stored for example, in the paper money storage 17 in the paper money storage 16, 17 and a means to store the ten-thousand yen notes, the one-thousand yen notes stored in the paper money storages 15, 16 in the paper money storage 17.
