PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the quantity of data transferred from an information processor to a printer and to relatively reduce a memory mounted on the printer side. SOLUTION: An image constituted of multi-valued pixels is quantized into data having the smaller number of bits by multi-valued dither processing (S3). Four data of the highest frequency out of quantized data are used to generate a fixed pallet table (S4). With respect to data of the dither processing result which is not taken as the object of fixed pallet generation, data is made into a pallet by registering the data in a properly changeable variable pallet table (S7). Data made into the pallet, the fixed pallet table, and the variable pallet table are outputted (S4 and S9).
