PURPOSE: A multi-channel system and method for detecting and recording incoming/outgoing of planes are provided to automatically detect incoming and outgoing time of a plane when the plan enters a moorage and goes out of the moorage and to compress motion pictures to store the compressed picture in a memory. CONSTITUTION: A multi-channel system for detecting and recording incoming/outgoing of planes includes a plurality of analog/digital conversion and FIFO units(20a,20n), a CPU(30), a memory(40) and a video processor(50). The analog/digital conversion and FIFO units convert analog video signals received from a plurality of channels into digital video signals, scale the signals with various resolutions and store the scaled signals. The CPU initializes the analog/digital conversion and FIFO units, controls the digital video signals to be scaled with various resolution, detects incoming/outgoing of a plane using the digital video signals transmitted from the analog/digital conversion and FIFO units, motion-picture-compresses the digital video signals, and restores the compressed video data. The memory stores the compressed video data. The video processor processes the restored digital video signals to be visually displayed on a monitor(60).
