METHOD OF COMMUNICATING SIGNALS AND CONTROL PROTOCOL DATA BETWEEN SDL CONTROL SYSTEM AND SWITCH IN OPEN-TYPE SWITCHING SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A method of communicating signals and control protocol data between an SDL(Specification and Description Language) control system and a switch in an open-type switching system is provided to supply channel control and an integrated communication service between differently structured SDL control system and switch, in order to configure one open-type switching system, thereby reducing time for developing and studying a new communication service. CONSTITUTION: A communication processor generates an SDL channel(S201), and generates an ATM channel with a switch(S202). The communication processor stores information related to connections between the SDL channel and the ATM channel in a channel management table(S203). The communication processor retrieves whether the switch or an SDL control system requests the change of a communication channel(S204). If so, the communication processor changes the information of the table(S205). If the request does not exist, the communication processor retrieves which protocol data is generated and received(S206). If the generated protocol data is SDL packet data, the communication processor interprets an SDL packet from the SDL control system, and retrieves the ATM channel from the table(S207). The communication processor transmits the protocol data to the ATM channel(S208).
