PURPOSE: A method for selecting a channel of broadcasting is provided to improve the convenience of program channel selection by displaying a grouped program menu and a plurality of channel numbers corresponding to the grouped program menu when a user selects a channel. CONSTITUTION: A menu key is inputted and a menu in which broadcasting channels are classified according to their contents is displayed based on its selection frequency. Where a specific item on the displayed menu is selected, broadcasting channels contained in the selected specific item are displayed based on their selection frequency. In case one of the broadcasting channels displayed is selected, a program corresponding to the selected broadcasting channel is inputted. A selection frequency with respect to the selected menu and broadcasting channel is calculated and stored.
