PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cable which has flexibility, easy handling property, water proofing property, rat preventing property and chemical resistance, which can be easily optically connected and which has preferable laying property. SOLUTION: The optical fiber cable has a core layer having a plurality of plastic optical fibers 2 and a high tensile reinforcing member 3, a buffer layer 5 formed by winding fluorocarbon resin tapes to surround the core layer, and a protective layer 6 formed around the buffer layer by melt extrusion coating of a fluorocarbon resin.
