PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically rearrange exclusive tools used for respective types of workpieces to a prescribed preparatory position in a tool magazine every time when a type of a working object of a workpiece is changed. SOLUTION: A tool magazine 1 is provided with a plurality of tool pots 3 on the outer periphery of a supporting member 2. Tools in the common tool group Ta commonly used for a plurality of types of the workpieces worked with an automatic machine tool M and tools in the exclusive tool group Tb (TbA, TbB, TbC, etc.), exclusively used for respective types of the workpieces A, B, C, etc., are respectively grouped and accommodated in the respective tool pots 3. When the type of the workpiece is selected, the tool exchange mechanism is activated by operation of a controller G. In accordance with a tool rearrangement instruction program set at every types of the workpieces in advance, a tool in the exclusive tool group Tb corresponding to a selected workpiece is rearranged in a prescribed preparatory position in the tool magazine 1. |
