METHOD FOR ADJUSTING CALIBRATION ROLL OF SCRATCH INSPECTION DEVICE AND SCRATCH INSPECTION DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for adjusting a calibration roll of a scratch inspection device precisely and easily as well as a scratch inspection device. SOLUTION: The scratch inspection device 10 has a supporting roll 1 on which a plate material S for inspection is rolled and an image pickup device 19, which picks up an image of the material surface to inspect surface scratches under illumination. The position of the calibration roll 35 attached a regulation sheet regulating conditions of imaging is adjusted as described below. A reference light is irradiated from the diagonally upper part and the diagonally lower part of the sheet on the roll 1 to form reference marks at both edges of the sheet separately in the direction of axis of the roll. Irradiation direction of the reference light is adjusted and kept so that the reference marks are located on datum lines of the sheet. The position of the calibration roll is adjusted so that the reference marks are located on the datum lines.
