PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a basic structure for a fundamental deck lower part of a coke oven, with which a heat stress generated at the basic structure for a fundamental deck lower part is lightened, judgment of necessity of repair is facilitated and a repair can be carried out without obstructing an operation. SOLUTION: This basic structure for a fundamental deck lower part of a coke oven is equipped with a joint 4 at a boundary part between a part 5a to be heated by a hearth or a flue 6 and a part 5b to be radiated by air or soil. Consequently, a thermal stress generated in the basic structure can be lightened and an economical structure is obtained without greatly changing an operation condition in a regenerative furnace, etc., and not requiring a large- scale apparatus. In addition, judgment of necessity of a repair is facilitated and a repair can be carried out without obstructing an operation.
