PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vaporization type humidifier to facilitate its washing and removal in such a way that water for humidification is sterilized, proliferation of microorganisms will not occur on a vaporization promoting object, it is sanitary, and adhesion of an inorganic component in water to the inner surface of a water tank is prevented from occurring as much as possible, and washing and its removal are facilitated. SOLUTION: In a vaporization type humidifier A, formed such that the vaporization promoting object 2 having water absorption ability is impregnated with water, air is supplied to the vaporization promoting object 2 by a fan 4B, and a moisture content, with which the vaporization promoting object is impregnated, and the moisture with which the vaporization promoting object is vaporized, by supplying air by a fan 4B for humidification, the humidifier is provided with one pair or more of insoluble or high resistance to corrosion electrodes 10 and 10 are arranged, in a manner of making contact with water; a chlorine-producing means for carrying out electrolysis by applying a DC component on the electrodes, and convert chlorine ions in water into chlorine and continuously generating in water for replacement; and a current control means to effect control, such that the desired chlorine concentration is obtained through energization of the electrodes.
