PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems that an attaching hole for a water faucet is provided on a counter surface and the water faucet is attached as a separate body through the attaching hole in a conventional hand washer, consequently a joint is formed at the boundary part of the counter of the hand washer and a water faucet metal fitting, water drops scattered by hand washing or the like are accumulated and stains are easily attached at the joint part and it is unsanitary. SOLUTION: In a hand washing device provided with a water tank having a water discharge port on the bottom part thereof and a back guard part erected on the back side of the water tank, an automatic liquid discharge means constituted of a detection part detecting the presence/absence of a hand within a hand washing space and a discharge port part automatically performing discharge on the basis of the detection signal is housed and installed within the back surface of the back guard part without being projected from the surface of the back guard part.
