PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal carrier for a catalyst converter constituted by soldering thin metal foils used for cleaning exhaust gas of a car, and a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing a metal carrier for cleaning the exhaust gas of the car comprising a honeycomb member constituted by soldering a corrugated metal foil with a thick of 8-25 μm and a flat foil, a solder material comprising 15-20 mass % of Cr, 9-13 mass % of Si, 1-5 mass % of P, the remainder of Ni and innevitable impurities is used so that the maximum thickness of the mutually soldered part of the metal foils is 3.5 times or less the thickness of the metal foils and this soldered part occupies 70% or more of the total soldered part. |
