PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable power generation, even when a car is idling, by fitting a speed increasing gear between the input shaft and the rotating shaft of a permanent-magnet generator, and increasing the revolution of the rotating shaft. SOLUTION: This permanent-magnet generator is equipped with a speed increasing gear arranged between its input shaft 7 and the rotating shaft 2 of a rotor 3, and made up of a planetary gear mechanism 9 for increasing the revolution. The gear mechanism 9 is composed of an inner gear 11 fitted onto the inner surface of the rotating body 8 of the input shaft 7, an outer gear 12 fitted to the outer surface of the rotating shaft 2, and a planetary gear 13 which engages with the inner gear 11 and the outer gear 12 and is fitted to a supporting shaft 17 fixed to a housing 1 in a freely rotatable way. The rotating body 8 constitutes a pulley 18 which is operated and united to the output shaft of an engine with belts.
