PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer realizing printing with high productivity by having the control of a production process improved by an operator, and a method for managing a print queue. SOLUTION: Jobs are put into a print queue (64), and before the print processing of the job in the queue begins, a start condition for the job is checked and printing is started only when the start condition is fulfilled. The method is provided with the steps of: checking the status of a mode indicator indicating whether a printer (10) is in a 'processing continuing' mode or a 'sequence keeping' mode, and when a job (80) not fulfilling the start condition in the queue (64) reaches the head of the queue; postponing the print processing of the job; continuing the processing of the next job fulfilling the start condition, if any, when the printer is in the 'processing continuing' mode; and stopping the print processing when it is in the 'sequence keeping' mode. |
