PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable telephone set provided with a crime-preventing function which can be used under various situations. SOLUTION: A send-out sound storing means 5 stores incoming call sound for crime prevention which is used in a simulative incoming call in crime prevention mode. A control portion 2 causes a mode changing operation detecting means to detect operation on a mode change operation portion 11 which changes mode to crime prevention mode in which simulative incoming call operation is performed without any actual incoming call, and causes a mode changing means to change mode to crime prevention mode. Further, the control portion 2 causes a simulative incoming call operation detecting means to detect operation to instruct a simulative incoming call by a user, and causes an incoming call sound starting means to start an incoming call sound for crime prevention. Further, the control portion 2 causes a simulative response operation detecting means to detect operation to respond to a simulative incoming call by the user, and causes a simulative telephone conversation starting means to stop the incoming call sound for crime prevention.
