PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast program storage method by which a user can record its own preferred program without checking a program list. SOLUTION: In the broadcast program storage method that stores a broadcast program sent from a broadcasting station at a user station under the control of a control center, the control center is provided with a program reception processing section that receives a program list sent from the broadcasting station, a program list database section that stores the program list, a meta data generating section that generates meta data and items of the meta data from the program list, a database section that stores the meta data and the items of the meta data, a data retrieval section that retrieves a corresponding program from the database on the basis of the data sent from the user station, a data communication processing section that remotely controls the user stations, a user data storage section that stores user data such as a program recorded by the user station and a destination of the user station and a central control section that controls each section above, and the control center controls the user station at a time when the broadcast program matching the user's preference is broadcast according to the result of retrieval by the data retrieval section to allow the user station to store broadcast programs matching the user's preference.
