TRANSMISSION/RECEPTION METHOD AND TRANSMISSION/RECEPTION APPARATUS FOR POLARIZATION STATE CONTROL SIGNAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission/reception method and a transmission/ reception apparatus for a polarization state control signal, capable of separation of a polarized wave by signal processing at a speed which is smaller than the transmission signal speed. SOLUTION: A first optical wave or a second optical wave is modulated by modulators 4 and 6 in a transmission side by a signal from a third signal source 7, having satisfactory small correlation with both a first signal and a second signal which are generated by separating light from a light source 1 by an optical coupler 2. The third signal is extracted as an electric signal in a receiving terminal, and the electric signal is used as a control signal for an automatic polarization controller 13.
