PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To receive a desired program quickly and surely by simple operation when a channel is selected according to a program list in a receiver receiving broadcast, e.g. DAB of Eureka147 system. SOLUTION: A user displays a receiving record list and selects a program by moving a jog lever up and down. A CPU searches a selected program without waiting depression of the jog lever and if that program is under broadcast and thereby receivable, receives that program and outputs the sound. If that program is not under broadcast and thereby unreceivable, 'OUT OF RANGE' is displayed. The user can selected another program by moving the jog lever up and down. It is also true when a channel is selected using the service list and a component list, or using an ensemble broadcasting the same program and the service list.
