METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PREVENTING DIGITAL CONTENTS FROM BEING COPIED ILLEGALLY USING FILE SYSTEM INFORMATION DATA

PURPOSE: A method and system for preventing digital contents from being copied illegally is provided to compare and analyze file system information installed in an operating system and file system information coded in the corresponding file or digital contents in the case that a file or digital contents are used in a corresponding computer or a computing system. CONSTITUTION: A server demon(1030) such as an HTTP server demon for supporting the WWW or an FTP(File Transfer Protocol) server demon for supporting an FTP is mounted in a contents supplying server on the Internet. Contents DB(1000) for being supplied to a client is connected to the server demon(1030). A client side FSI(File System Insertion) manager(1040) for searching and managing an FSI(500) which is mounted in the client and a client contents manager(1050) for managing the client who downloads contents are mounted in a server. An FSI D/B(1010) which stores the newest version FSI module capable of being used in each operating system is connected to the client side FSI manager(1040). A client DB(1020) which stores information with respect to contents which was transmitted to the client is connected to the client contents manager(1050). A web browser capable of browsing the contents supplying server and the FSI(500) which downloads digital contents being transmitted in the contents supplying server and inserts/stores coded file system information into the contents are mounted in the client. The client and the contents supplying server is connected the Internet, which supports TCP/IP(Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol,1060) protocol.
