PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a long life of a multi-color or white-color organic electroluminescence element. SOLUTION: For a luminous layer of an organic EL element, 1,3,5- tripyrenylbenzen derivative that is excellent in stability and expressed by the formula (1) is employed as a host material of the luminous layer, and a dopant is doped in this host material. By combining a blue color luminous layer (first luminous layer) and a luminous layer of another color added with a dopant, a multi-color or white color luminous element having a high illuminance and a long life is obtained. This organic EL element can realize a high luminous efficiency and a ling life.
