PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a large-capacity nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery which is superior safety under high temperature conditions, when it is overcharged. SOLUTION: In the nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery, an electrolyte is added with at least one among diphenyl ether, bis(p-tolyl)ether, and 3- phenoxytoluene, and a separator 4 has its air permeation resistance of <=400 s/100 ml in initial state, and 350-700 s/100 ml and 700-2,100 s/100 ml that are values obtained by measuring immediately, after 15 minute of storage in an atmosphere of 110 deg.C or 120 deg.C, respectively while applying a tensile load of 25 kg/cm<2> to the separator in a MD. |
